PRK vs LASIK
PRK is flapless while LASIK there is a flap made and treatment is made directly to the corneal stroma. With PRK there is no flap complications and no flap to dislodge, the laser treatment is done either right over the epithelium.
There is a longer recovery time with PRK vs LASIK, and initially it slightly more uncomfortable. PRK may be a good option if you have thin corneas or for certain careers. At Optique we feel it in important for our patients to know their options in order to make an informed decision.
